The Dream

The Palm Coffee Bar with one small spark, a quick nonchalant slip of the lip conversation over champagne and good friends, one New Years Eve. We were talking about how we dreamed of a more "woke" coffee shop for our neighborhood, mostly because we wanted one! :p We craved something different. We wanted to see more high-end/quality products and innovation PLUS... we had this idea that every day should feel like a vacation/celebration. (Celebrate good times come'on!) This is why our decor screams "fun, fresh, plants, party, pink, disco ball, selfies..." (Yes in that order ; )

Everything we do at The Palm Coffee Bar is to support this BIG FUN, VACATION VIBE idea of ours…

Because of this and because Joanna is the toughest quality control officer in town, we carry the highest quality coffees, teas, treats and baked goods. Our passion is for providing a luxury, quality, next level experience for our local community every single day, 7 days a week. We are a place to gather, where all are welcomed. We love what we do and are so happy to be able to share it with you. When possible we use Organic, Non-GMO, Fair Trade, etc. These are the buzz words that stick to our hearts and remind us each day why we do this. We stand behind each & every product we sell 100%.

We cultivate relationships to find the best products and shop small + local when we can. With specialty goods such as Equator Coffee, CBD coffee, CBD Drinks, Tenzo Tea, Mighty Leaf Tea, Sugarbloom, Vegan, Vegetarian & Gluten-Free options, Superpop Bars, Naturally Clean Eats, Pulp Pantry Chips, Tates Cookies, Pulp Story Wellness Shots, Little West Juices, Rakka Vegan Chocolate, a full line-up of specialty cold drinks and a super fun retail section full of gifts, candles, cards etc... we would say we have a lot to offer! Literally something for everyone! We are proud Burbankians and want to thank you for supporting not only our small business, but our dream to share with the world the things we love and believe in...

xoxo

THE COFFEE fix- SIGHTGLASS

Coffee is a seasonal fruit and we source it directly from origin in freshly harvested lots. We practice small production methods that allow us to scrutinize and perfect our processes. Attaining a perfect roast is an intuition, a smell, a sound, a slight change in color— it’s about careful attention to detail that comes through in every cup.

Our company takes its name from the 'sightglass,' the viewing window on our vintage PROBAT coffee roaster that exposes the complex and delicate process of roasting coffee. We believe that knowing the story behind your coffee—where it was grown, how it was processed, and who handled it along the way—is a powerful link from the cup to the wider world.

Ultimately, we aim to deliver the highest quality achievable in all aspects of our business, whether that be sourcing the most beautiful and wondrous coffees attainable or employing the most mindful and quality-focused practices possible.

spill THE tea- RISHI

Independently owned, direct trade importer of organic teas and botanicals. Rishi Tea are selectors, importers and makers.

Rishi Tea was founded on the commitment to set the standard for quality and expand the awareness of tea and its rich, inspirational tradition. We offer premium tea and botanicals imported directly from gardens across the world. We draw inspiration from ancient artisanal practices that use organic cultivation techniques as well as modern culinary innovation. From our modest beginnings over twenty years ago to becoming an established leader in the specialty tea market, our mission has never wavered.

Organic

We believe that organic certified teas and herbs, grown without the use of agrochemicals like pesticides and fertilizers, are generally healthier for the environment, farmers and tea drinkers alike. We support growers who cultivate ecologically sustainable gardens in remote locations around the world.

Direct Trade

Our practice of Direct Trade is not just a romance story or marketing gimmick: it is the very foundation of our quality control program. Our travel and hands-on work with farmers allows us to verify where, when and how our organic teas are grown and to offer traceability on each lot back to the farm.

Culinary Inspired

Tea was originally a food and medicine long before it became a steeped beverage. It is only natural that our tea practice draws inspiration from numerous disciplines, including third wave coffee, cocktail mixology, sommeliers’ oenology, botanical apothecary, and the traditional culinary arts from global food cultures.

get BAKEd- Sugarbloom

SUGARBLOOM: A native Angeleno (by way of Taiwan), chef/owner Sharon Wang grew up in the Arcadia and attended UCLA. She started her career in interactive design, co-founding Media Revolution in Santa Monica with friends from college. In 2003, after 10 years as an art director and creative manager, she followed her sweet tooth to the Culinary Institute of America in the Napa Valley and began working for chef Thomas Keller while training in pastry there. Sharon rose through the ranks of the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group, first in Napa Valley and then New York City, baking breads and pastries for The French Laundry, Per Se, Ad Hoc, and Bouchon Bistro and Bakery. She was promoted to head pastry chef of Bouchon in Yountville, and then, returning home, Bouchon in Beverly Hills. After nine years with chef Keller, Sharon struck out on her own, first consulting for restaurants and later starting Sugarbloom Bakery in 2012. Sharon’s classic French training and extensive experience and exposure as well as her upbringing in multicultural and ethnically diverse Los Angeles are reflected in Sugarbloom’s viennoiseries, desserts, and custom cakes.
